The Family Chronicle
January 2006

 

The month of January started out normal enough until Thursday January 19th. John's fiancee died that day and our world was shaken . Roberta was John's best friend and confidant. She was always a pleasure to have around and the two of them were planning on marriage sometime in March. Some of Roberta's favorite things were her children, karaoke, golfing and enjoying the simple things of life. We miss her very much, but await her return in the resurrection.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them.  And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Saturday, January 28th started out slowly as we struggled to regain our thoughts after Roberta's funeral. Late in the morning we received a phone call informing us that Susan's sister Beverly was in the hospital and the outlook wasn't good. We continued our day and Susan and I took the family out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday. Shortly before midnight, we received a call that Beverly had died. We look forward to seeing you in the new system.
